Mrs. Currie’s Cheese Biscuits

2 cups flour

4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup milk

½ cup grated sharp cheese

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.  Mix margarine into flour mixture.  Add 1 cup milk all at once.  Stir in grated cheese.  Knead gently for ½ minute on lightly floured board.  Pat or roll to ½ -inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.  Put on greased baking sheet, barely touching each other.  Bake at 450° for 15 to 20 minutes.  Makes 12 to 15 biscuits. Serve with butter.
