Slow Cooker Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

This is a very thick, meaty sauce. It’s one of my favorites and it freezes well.


28 oz. canned tomatoes with juice, mashed

5 1/2 oz. tomato paste

1 cup onion, finely chopped

1/2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp mustard

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp sugar

1 bay leaf

1 tsp beef bouillon powder (or a bit of beef broth)

1 1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 lb. lean ground beef

Mix all ingredients well and cook in crock pot on low for 7 to 9 hours (or high for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours). Discard bay leaf. Serve over spaghetti with lots of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.
